Every great business starts with an idea, and the Get Started: Business Idea Challenge is helping turn it into reality. Here’s a list of the April awardees who secured up to $500 in non-equity funding.

Documental is a software that helps school administrators quickly and easily document daily low-level incidents in the moment. The service allows administrators to save documents in folders shared with colleagues and set follow-up reminders so they never miss a beat.

Elevated Iron Guide is a service that connects fitness enthusiasts with meticulously vetted, independent gyms. The platform displays detailed facility profiles and allows users to seamlessly purchase and redeem passes, empowering them to find facilities committed to exceptional quality, transparency, and elevated fitness experiences.

Johanna’s Tamales is a passion project born from the love of home cooking and the desire to make and share the perfect tamale. Johanna, a single mother trying to work while raising kids, has been improving her recipe for the past year through feedback from her friends and neighbors — all of whom say they love her tasty tamales.

Pariah Apparel and Custom Embroidery is striving to build a clothing brand infused with their unique artistic designs. While many embroiderers outsource, the company works directly with customers. This ensures nothing gets lost in translation, allowing for better-curated designs. 

RACKD Systems makes ski racks for truck beds designed to help users safely and securely transport ski gear without installation or additional equipment. The product uses rotating legs that allow the rack to fit in a variety of truck beds for seamless integration.

Recap Innovations is a multilingual video education service that makes the spoken word more accessible via AI-driven voiceovers, translations, transcriptions, and closed captions. It can be embedded into student platforms for broader comprehension of materials, regardless of language barriers.

Utah Mountain Woodworking Souvenirs uses topographic data — primarily of Utah ski resorts — to create relief maps that are etched into high-quality pieces of wood. From coasters to fridge magnets, these small handcrafted pieces are the perfect memento for those who love this state’s resorts.
