Zia Zensations, a niche aromatherapy purveyor, has spent the last seven years working its way through the Utah market space. In addition to its high-quality oils, it offers various natural aroma-based products that aim to promote physical health and mental wellness.
At 17 years old, Joe Zia — who cofounded the company with his wife, Esther — moved from the U.S. to Costa Rica, where he launched a tech and video game company. Although he gained invaluable experience, the business wasn’t ultimately aligned with Joe’s passion for health.
After nearly 30 years in Costa Rica, where the couple spent much of their time learning and practicing zen philosophy, martial arts, and focusing on personal well-being, Joe and Esther decided it was time to move somewhere new — Utah.
Their love of the state first formed when they visited in 2009 to see family. During their trip, the couple “fell in love with the friendly people, their steadfast values, and the awesome natural beauty.”
Not long after they made the move, the Zias began to look into local wellness products, which led them to identify that prices for premium-quality oils were high, prompting them to fill the gap in the market.
After identifying the complexity in essential oils and wellness, the company’s goal to “bring all of the benefits of aromatherapy to everyone through unrelenting quality at a fair price” has led to its creation of a line of pure essential oils and premium perfumes that offer various health benefits as well as create delightful sensory experiences.
To further cater to consumer needs, Zia Zensations even offers custom compositions per request.
